La victoria taqueria1/16/2024 “It’s quite different from what you find existing there.” “It’s something that you will not find on Mission Boulevard,” Carl Emura, an associate planner with the city, said about the future restaurant. The new building will be built in a contemporary design with floor-to-ceiling windows and have a stone veneer finish that will set the kitchen aside from the dining area. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. No alcohol will be served and hours will be 9 a.m.-11 p.m. The menu will offer burritos, tortas, enchilada plates and other traditional Mexican-American food, according to a background report prepared for the commission. It will be replaced with a one-story 3,200-square-foot restaurant with seating for 76 customers inside and a front patio with an additional 20 seats. The building that was once Pepe Mexican Taqueria totals 1,444 square feet. And I think it’s nice that this is one way we can show our support to businesses located here in Hayward.” “We are always looking for choice in regards to restaurants. “This will be an improvement to what we see currently happening,” Planning Commissioner Dianne McDermott said July 25, when the commission took action so that the current building’s demolition could happen and a new restaurant gets built. The surrounding area includes used car dealerships, a thrift shop and an equipment rental business. But the business wants to move down the street to 27915 Mission in order to expand, according to the city. ![]() the only one outside the South Bay - opened about nine years ago. The chain’s Hayward restaurant at 26953 Mission Blvd. Known for its signature orange sauce created with a secret recipe, La Victoria opened its first location in 1998 in San Jose, where it now has five restaurants. La Victoria Taqueria plans to tear down the building where Pepe Mexican Taqueria operated and replace it with a larger one. One could see an outcome here where Officer McNamara is cleared, Green gets a hefty settlement, and hopefully, Green plays football again.HAYWARD - A Bay Area chain Mexican restaurant plans to move from its current location on Mission Boulevard into a vacant spot on the same street that previously housed another Mexican restaurant. ![]() And it is plausible that the police will be found innocent of any wrongdoing, there was an active shooter situation over which this incident regrettably overlapped. Several people could have been shot, Green ensured that did not happen. ![]() But it’s hard to describe Green any other way when seeing that taqueria security camera footage. We honestly should not throw around the word “hero” in a case where there is still much we don’t know. The station also reports that the shooting officer was four-year-veteran Mark McNamara, who is of course now on paid administrative leave.īut the video is surely a boon for Green’s federal lawsuit against the City of San Jose over the shooting. KTVU reports that we now know it was a ghost gun, and 30-year-old Bryan Carter was arrested for being a felon in possession of it (he’s now out on bail). Police thought the skirmish might be related to a shooting that had just occurred nearby, and that Green may have been an active shooter. Yet as luck would have it, Green is the one who takes police bullets. Yet Green manages to wrestle the gun away like he was Viggo in A History of Violence (7:20 mark), and then has every opportunity to shoot people if he wants to, but instead clearly de-escalates the situation between the brawlers. And when it does get around to actually showing a skirmish Green was involved in at the taqueria (2:30 mark), the footage is frankly a somewhat amusing depiction of a late-night drunken taqueria fight, and boy does Green deliver an ass-whooping to whomever provoked him.īut things obviously get more serious when someone whips out a gun (3:00). (the first two minutes are all just their department spokesperson talking). The video is from the San Jose Police, and is in many ways slickly produced and highly edited.
